Charlie Spridgeon Ducks Out

In a strategic move for both his career and recovery, Charlie Spridgeon, the talented forward of the Dragons, has signed with the Deeside Ducks for the 2024/25 season. This decision comes after a challenging year for Spridgeon, who missed nearly the entire 2023/24 season due to a broken humerus sustained just 30 minutes into the Dragons’ first game.

After suffering a serious injury in the first game of the regular season last year, losing Charlie was a big loss for the Dragons. By signing with the Ducks, Charlie can regain strength and agility after a year out of hockey, can provide leadership to the younger players on the team, and can work towards rejoining the Dragons when he feels able.

While he plays for the Ducks, Charlie will continue to train with the Dragons, and we expect he will be back up to speed in no time! Charlie is another example of the commitment the Dragons have to young, British trained players. We believe Charlie has untapped potential, and we’re hopeful for a fully healthy Charlie to make his return to the NIHL1 this season!
