Our Story
Founded in 1974, the Deeside Dragons hold the honor of being the oldest ice hockey team in North Wales. Our legacy is built on perseverance, community service, and an enduring passion for the sport.

After a 2.5-year hiatus, during which our beloved rink was converted into a Covid-19 vaccination center, we have roared back into action. As we enter our third season back on the ice, our matchday attendance figures have soared, with numbers up over 50% from pre-Covid levels, even surpassing those of the Connah’s Quay Nomads. This overwhelming response from our fans not only signifies their loyalty but also reinforces our bond with the local community.

Our Philosophy
The Deeside Dragons are more than just a team – we are a community-based, not-for-profit organization, run entirely by devoted volunteers. Every puck drop, every cheer, and every moment on the ice is a testament to the tireless efforts of these individuals who work behind the scenes.
