3 Next Gen Dragons Signed

The Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons Excitedly Announce the Promotion of Three Junior Dragons to the Senior Squad for the 24/25 Season, All Signing Two-Year Contracts!

First up, forward Cody Ogden made his senior debut with the Dragons last season, suiting up for one game. Previously he played for the Widnes Wild U18 squad, where he put up 7 points in 6 games for them, including 2 goals and 5 assists. After a move to the Dragons Academy, he only played in one game but scored four goals for the Dragons in that game.

“Last year [making my senior debut] was a really big opportunity for me. I was nervous, but everyone was really encouraging, and I seemed to fit in pretty well. I felt really welcomed to the team. This season I feel great, I’m really excited for it. I can’t wait!” Cody Ogden

Also joining the Dragons is forward Daniels Fadejevs, who will be making his senior debut this season at the age of 16. Last season Daniels played for both the U16 and U18 for both the Dragons and the Manchester Storm Academy. He wore the C for the U16 Storm, and put up 22 points in 12 games. He added 19 points in 7 games for the Dragons U16 and 5 points in 1 game for the Dragons U18.

“I can’t wait to play this season, there’s going to be a mix of games, Dragons and Ducks. Training with the Dragons last year was great, all the players made me feel welcome. I’m really excited for the opportunity!” Daniels Fadejevs

Finally, defenceman Henry Phillips will also be making his senior debut with the Dragons for the 24/25 season! Last season Henry also split his time between the Storm U16 and U18 teams, as well as the Dragons U16 and U18 teams. He scored 3 points in 6 games for the Dragons U16, 8 points in 9 games for the Storm U16, and 1 point in 4 games for the Storm U18.

“I really appreciate the opportunity and am so grateful for it. Being on a two-way contract with the Ducks also gives me a chance to develop with the Ducks and translate that to the Dragons. It’s a massive opportunity for me and the atmosphere around the team is great to be around. Everyone’s been so supportive and welcoming, I can’t wait to get started!” Henry Phillips

The Dragons remain committed to and excited about the future of young British players, and are looking forward to seeing the results of the first graduating players from the new-look Deeside Dragons Academy, which has only been back in action for one season since the rink shuttered due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020.
