Dalton Returns to the Dragons After Stint in Canada

The Deeside Dragons are thrilled to announce the return of Dalton Thompson to the club. After spending the last five months honing his skills and gaining valuable experience in Canada, Dalton is back and ready to make an impact. Most recently, he played for the St. George Ravens in the GMHL, where he competed in 23 games and recorded an impressive 12 points, tallying two goals and ten assists.

Dalton’s time in Canada provided him with the opportunity to challenge himself against a different style of play, refine his game, and develop his on-ice awareness. His hard work and dedication have been evident since his return, and the coaching staff is excited to see how he integrates back into the team.

Coach Matty Compton shared his enthusiasm about Dalton’s return, saying, “DJ contacted us to say he was returning, and we jumped at the chance to have him back with us. He’s a talented player with great potential, and we believe he can continue his development with both us and the Ducks. We’ve already seen from training how much he has improved during his short time in Canada. His confidence has grown, and his decision-making on the ice has become sharper. We are looking for DJ to push himself to make our matchday squad soon.”

Dalton himself is eager to get back on the ice in a Dragons jersey. Reflecting on his time away, he said, “I’m really happy to be back after my time away. Playing in Canada was an amazing experience, and I learned so much about the game. I feel like I’ve improved as a player, and I can’t wait to put that into practice and help the team. The Dragons have always been a special club to me, and I’m looking forward to being back in front of the fans and playing my part.”

To support his ongoing development, Dalton will be on a two-way contract with the Deeside Ducks. This arrangement will allow him to continue gaining valuable ice time and refine his game further while also competing for a place in the Dragons’ matchday squad.

With Dalton back in the mix, the Dragons gain another determined and skilled player eager to prove himself. Welcome back, DJ!
