BIG SAVE BOOTH RETURNS

After a spectacular senior debut last season, the Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are proud to announce the return of goaltender Ollie Booth!

Last season, the Dragons saw firsthand the importance of developing young British players, and are excited to continue that with Ollie, who at only 17 years old is already getting ready for his second season playing senior hockey. We’re also excited to announce that after spending some time emergency backing up for the Milton Keynes Lightning last season due to injuries, Ollie will be signing a two way contract with the Lightning this season, marking his first official NIHL National Level contract.

Last season Ollie dressed for 19 games for the Dragons, going 2-2-0 in his four starts, including one performance where he faced over 70 shots vs the Whitley Warriors. He also played for England U18 this spring, putting in a great performance against a spirited Scotland team. Ollie is a prospect for the GB U18 team, and is a credit to the Dragons whenever he pulls on another jersey.

Ollie was also the winner of the Dragons Young Player of the Year award in the 23/24 season.

“Ollie joined us for a few games & practices last season when Heds was injured, he fitted in really well with the team and the dynamic of the room, so when he said he was looking to make the step to the national league it made sense to see if he’d consider MK.

I’ve worked with Ollie for a number of years at Clarke & Co Hockey Clinics, he’s a great kid with a great attitude towards the game, he works hard and is determined to improve, which working alongside two great goalies like Will & Heds he’ll come on leaps and bounds.

Ollie will remain with the Deeside Dragons in NIHL1 to continue his development and will meet with the team as required. I’m looking forward to seeing Ollie develop further and thrilled he’s chosen MK in the next steps of his journey.” MK Lightning Assistant Coach Joe Wilson

“I’m incredibly excited to be back at the Den again next year and can’t thank Mike and the management team enough for asking me back.

Last year was such a great introduction to senior hockey for me and it was great to be able to play in front of the amazing fans in the Den.

I can’t wait to get going again in September!” Ollie Booth
