From those early days, the Deeside Dragons have grown into one of the most enduring symbols of community, pride, and passion in Welsh sport.

A Legacy Forged in Ice

For more than five decades, the Dragons have faced challenges that would have ended most teams – but not us. We have battled through rink closures, financial pressures, and even a global pandemic that turned our home into a vaccination centre for 2.5 long years. Yet, when the doors of the Deeside Ice Rink reopened, we did not just return – we came back stronger.

Crowds have surged to record-breaking levels, surpassing even pre-pandemic numbers. Our supporters – families, lifelong fans, and new faces discovering the magic of hockey for the first time – have filled the rink with noise, colour, and pride. They remind us every week that the Dragons are more than a hockey team; we are the beating heart of a community.

The Steel 4 Structures Deeside Dragons are a not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Every ticket scanned, every puck dropped, and every cheer from the stands is made possible by people who give their time, energy, and passion for the love of the Dragons.

But our purpose stretches beyond the ice. We are committed to supporting our community, raising awareness for important causes, and using our platform to inspire future generations.
