The Wait is Over – Hockey Nights Are Back!

You know that feeling the moment you step down the tunnel — the cool air hits your face, the unmistakable smell of the ice fills your lungs, and suddenly, you know you’re home. The lights shine, the noise builds, and the Dragons burst onto the ice. Then the anthem begins. As Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau echoes around the arena, the hairs rise on the back of your neck and the anticipation grows. Nothing else compares to the roar of the crowd, the crash of the boards, and that surge of pure joy when the Dragons find the back of the net.

Tomorrow night gives us the first chance to see our new-look Dragons in action. The big signings of the summer — Colin Cromie, Matty Barlow, Rhys Edwards and Ethan Mayoh — will be pulling on the jersey for the very first time in Deeside, joined by exciting young talents Noah Persival and Bailey Thomas, along with new netminder Tyler de la Bertouche. They’ve all worked hard through pre-season, but now it’s time for them to experience the roar of the Dragons faithful for themselves.

It’s been a long summer without hockey. We’ve all missed it. But now, it’s back — and tomorrow night the Dragons return to Deeside. Our pre-season challenge against the Telford Tigers 2 will be the first taste of what’s to come, with doors opening at 4:30pm and face-off at 5:15pm. The return leg follows on Sunday in Telford, with a 6:00pm face-off, and then just one week later the real action begins. We open our league campaign away to the Sheffield Scimitars on Saturday 13th September, before bringing them back to Deeside on Sunday 14th September, with doors once again at 4:30pm and face-off at 5:15pm.

Game days are about more than just hockey. They’re about that buzz in the stands, the atmosphere that can’t be replaced, and the shared moments that bring us together as a family. That’s what you’ve missed — and that’s what you’ll feel the second you walk back through those doors.

Tickets are on sale now, but remember: online sales close tonight, Friday 5th September, at 11:30pm. After that, tickets will still be available on the gate. Make sure you don’t miss that first hit of the season — the Deeside Dragons are back, and we want you with us.
