The Deeside Dragons are delighted to welcome back one of our longest-serving players — Ryan Jones will once again take to the ice after signing a new 2 year contract with the North Wales club.
Ryan is very much “one of our own” — a true product of the Deeside junior system. After coming up through the ranks, he made his senior debut with the Dragons during the 2012-13 season and has proudly worn the jersey ever since.
Over the past three seasons, Ryan has firmly established himself as a steady and reliable figure on the Dragons’ blue line. In 2022-23, he became a regular presence in the line-up, contributing 2 assists over 22 league appearances as he cemented his spot in the team.
Building on that foundation, the 2023-24 season saw Ryan grow in confidence — picking up 4 assists in 19 games while continuing to develop his game and bring consistency to the defensive unit.
By 2024-25, Ryan’s hard work was paying off — he posted his best offensive numbers to date, with 2 goals and 3 assists in 24 league games, adding an extra dimension to his play and showing that he’s a player who continues to evolve with each passing season.
Now entering his next chapter with the club, Ryan’s experience, calm approach, and deep understanding of what it means to represent the Dragons will once again make him an important part of the team for 2025-26.
Speaking on his return, Ryan said:
“I’m really looking forward to coming back this season. After seeing what’s happening at Deeside, I want to be part of it — there’s something special building here. I can’t wait to see the regular faces — and some new ones — at the Den. See you all soon, Dragons fans!”
