Two Way Contract Announcements

The Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are excited to announce the signing of some two way contracts for the upcoming season!

DYLAN WEBB

First up, the Dragons want to welcome back defenceman Dylan Webb, who played four games for the Dragons last season as part of an agreement with the Cardiff Fire. He had two points in those games, including a very memorable power play goal against the Blackburn Hawks late in the season!

“I’d like to thank Mike and the coaching team for having me back at Deeside this season on a two way. I loved the 4 games I played last season and I’m looking forward to playing and hopefully making an impact for the full season. The club has a great atmosphere especially when the rink is packed, I really felt the fans support. Playing a full season here will also allow me to develop more as a player that will hopefully transfer back down to my home club.” Dylan Webb

“Dylan stepped in to support last season when we had injuries mid-season as part of the Cardiff Fire connection. He’s a great skater and has good vision from the back to head-man the puck and get the forwards on the offensive. Another young under 23 player who will be stepping in when needed on a 2-way contract. The Dragons are doing our part for British Ice Hockey to showcase younger players, giving them all an opportunity to play.” Assistant Captain Andy McKinney

DALTON THOMPSON

The Dragons would also like to welcome forward Dalton Thompson! Dalton has played most of his hockey in the south, playing his U15 games with the Coventry Blaze system, before moving to Milton Keynes and Swindon for his U18 games. Last season Dalton played for the Altrincham Aces of the NIHL2, and recorded 17 points in 27 games; impressive for only his second adult season.

“I’m really excited to get going and further develop my skills here in Deeside while continuing to work with Altrincham. Everyone here has been very welcoming and I’m really looking forward to this season, putting in the hard work for both teams and showing what I can do!” Dalton Thompson

“Dalton impressed massively during our trials, he’s a tall lad who stands out with his skating ability, decent hands and has a good shot. He’s improved each week during training and impressed so much we’ve had to give him a spot. Also known as DJ, he’s originally from Coventry and will be here on another two-way deal with the Altrincham Aces. DJ is also here locally at Chester University.” Assistant Captain Andy McKinney

GOALIES

The Dragons have also signed goalies Jace Gledhill and Oliver Booth to 2 way contracts. At Deeside we know the importance of development for young goalies, and we want them to have the opportunity to get as much ice time as they can, while still getting the experience of playing with a senior team like the Dragons.
