Louis Morgan returns

The Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are very excited to announce the return of defenceman Louis Morgan for the 2023-24 season!

Louis was a late addition to the Dragons’ roster last season, after missing the last three seasons due to COVID and an injury, but immediately settled back in and was an important part of the team in the tough post-Christmas stretch the team endured last year.

Though he didn’t record any points in 9 games this season, he showed great commitment to the team, and is a welcome addition to the Dragons core we established last season, adding to the youth and depth of the team.

“I’d like to thank Mike & the coaching team at Deeside for asking me to come back for another season.  Mike reached out to me just before Christmas last year to see if I would like to join the team for a skate. After a few years away from ice due to an elbow reconstruction it felt like an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. After thinking my hockey career had come to an end after my surgery, the goal was to one day make a full recovery and get back doing what I love doing. There was nowhere better to make my comeback than where my hockey journey first began at the U10s Deeside Dragons. I’m excited to be back with a great bunch of lads who as a team have a massive potential to compete for the top spots in the league!” Louis Morgan

“Louis is another product of the Deeside Junior system who’s took some time out from playing because of COVID. He’s had a stint at Telford playing with some top players, along with being a regular in the conference systems as a junior. He showed great commitment last season, joining late and getting back up to speed. Big off season ahead for Louis, to come in and to move up a level, we all think he’s very capable.” Assistant Captain Andy McKinney
