Game Day Etiquette & Safety

A Guide for a safe Ice Hockey experience

Hello, Dragons fans! We’re thrilled to have you join us for another exciting season of Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons ice hockey. To ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience, we’ve put together this friendly guide on game day etiquette and safety. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or new to the rink, these tips will help make your time with us a memorable one. Let’s dive in!

  1. Arrive on time: To ensure you don’t miss any of the action, plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the game starts. This will give you ample time to find parking, locate your seats, and grab any refreshments or souvenirs you might want.
  2. Dress appropriately: Ice rinks can be chilly, so dress warmly in layers. Don’t forget to wear your Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons gear to show your team spirit!
  3. Respect fellow fans: We want everyone to have a great time, so please be respectful to those around you. Keep noise levels reasonable, avoid using offensive language, and be aware of those sitting nearby when celebrating or cheering.
  4. Keep the rink safe: Ice hockey is a fast-paced game, which means pucks, sticks, and players can sometimes leave the rink. Stay alert and keep your eyes on the action to protect yourself and others. If a puck does come your way, never attempt to catch it with your bare hands – instead, try to deflect it away from yourself and others.
  5. Watch your alcohol consumption: Enjoying a drink or two while watching the game is perfectly fine, but remember to drink responsibly. Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to unruly behavior, which may spoil the experience for others.
  6. Keep the aisles clear: For the safety of all attendees, please keep the aisles clear during the game. If you need to leave your seat, wait for a break in the action, and return as quickly as possible to minimize disruptions.
  7. Supervise children: If you’re attending the game with children, keep a close eye on them at all times. Make sure they understand the importance of staying in their seats and not running around the arena.
  8. Be a good sport: Whether we win or lose, remember that sportsmanship is crucial. Applaud both teams for their efforts, and refrain from trash-talking or berating opposing players or fans.
  9. Dispose of trash properly: Keep our rink clean by disposing of trash in the appropriate receptacles. If you see litter on the ground, please pick it up and throw it away.
  10. Follow arena guidelines: Familiarize yourself with the arena’s specific rules and guidelines, which may include restrictions on items allowed inside, designated smoking areas, and other important information.

By following these simple game day etiquette and safety tips, you can help make the Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons ice hockey experience enjoyable for everyone. We look forward to seeing you at the rink, and let’s go Dragons!
