The Deeside Dragons Ice Hockey Club has been a pillar of community and sportsmanship in Deeside, North Wales. Its thriving success is not just down to the players and coaches, but also the invaluable contributions of the people behind the scenes. One such individual is Charles Humphreys, our remarkable kit man, who has been named the 2022-23 season’s unsung hero for his unwavering dedication and hard work for the club.
Charles’ Immeasurable Contributions
Charles has been the backbone of the team’s logistics, ensuring that each piece of equipment is in perfect condition and ready for match days. He’s the first to arrive and the last to leave, putting in hours that most don’t even see. His meticulous attention to detail has been instrumental in helping the Deeside Dragons perform their best on the ice. Charles does his work not for recognition, but for the love of the game and the community that surrounds it.
A New Chapter for Charles and Lillian
It is with mixed emotions that we announce Charles’ departure from the club and from the Deeside area. As life’s journey unfolds, Charles, along with his loving partner Lillian (AKA Flame), is relocating, making it unfeasible for him to continue his role as the club’s kit man.
While we are sad to see him go, we are also incredibly grateful for the years of dedication he has given to the Deeside Dragons. It won’t be easy filling the void he leaves behind, but we are hopeful that wherever Charles and Lillian go, they will continue to spread the same warmth and dedication that have made them such a treasured part of our community.
