The Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are proud to support the community in every way we can, and that’s why this year, we’re partnering with Nightingale House Hospice as our charity of the season! Nightingale House does fantastic work within our community, and when we were looking for an organisation to partner with this season, we didn’t need to look much further to find an excellent cause right here in North Wales.
Nightingale House Hospice is a home away from home, where everyone gets looked after like family. It’s a joy-filled place in the centre of Wrexham which provides specialist palliative care for those living with life-limiting illnesses, such as advanced cancer, motor neurone disease and chronic heart failure. They have a 12-bed in-patient ward, but also provide occupational therapy, music therapy and physiotherapy therapy – including a hydrotherapy pool and an ambulance service.
All of their services are completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across their catchment area, but this does come at a cost of over £4.5million a year. The hospice receives 17% statutory contribution towards those total running costs, but the rest of their income is dependent upon our community and their supporters’ generosity.

Dragons management says “The Dragons are so excited to work with Nightingale House this upcoming season, hospice care is such an important part of the community, and Nightingale House supports of so many people every year, we thought it was time to support them! We are looking forward to welcoming Chloe and everyone at Nightingale House to the Den this season!”
