The Aspray Chester Deeside Dragons are very excited to announce the return of defenceman Billy Perks for the upcoming 2023-24 season!
Billy took a brief break from hockey during the COVID-19 pause, not icing for the 2020-21 or the 2021-22 seasons, but he got right back into the swing of things this season as he returned to the only team he’s ever played for. Billy has been a Dragon since playing for the U16 team in 2014-15, made his senior debut in 2016-17, and has been a mainstay at the Den ever since.
Though he only recorded one assist in 26 games this season, Billy’s impact as a defensive defenceman cannot be understated, and though you might not always notice him on the ice, that’s a good thing for the style of game he plays.
“I’m really looking forward to playing this year and I can’t wait to be part of the Dragons again, hopefully we can build on last year and have a better chance of coming first. I think we’ve got a strong group of lads who are determined to win and have a no-quit attitude. Also I can’t wait to be back at the Den playing in front of the fans.
